About Us
Situated in the heart of leafy Crafers in the Adelaide Hills, Crafers Bakehouse is a family-owned bakery built on wholesome baking, nostalgic favourites and genuine community connection.
Opened in 2023 by Tristan Cayzer and Sarah Hutson, the bakery was created to give Tristan the opportunity to follow his passion for baking, creativity and craftsmanship, while giving Sarah the chance to build something bigger than just a business — a team, a culture and a place deeply connected to the local community.
With five kids of their own, plenty of early mornings and a whole lot of organised madness behind the scenes, they set out to create the kind of bakery they’d want to walk into themselves — warm, welcoming, hardworking and full of personality. The kind of place where locals are greeted by name, tradies stop in for pies before work, kids press against the cabinet deciding between a finger bun or donut, and families build weekend traditions around fresh bread, coffee and an award-winning Kitchener cream bun.
Production is led by Tristan, with more than 25 years of experience and a long list of award-winning breads and pastries behind him, while Sarah brings the people, business and community side together with plenty of energy and laughs along the way. Together, they’ve built an award-winning bakery grounded in quality products, good people and a genuine love for what they do.
Everything at Crafers Bakehouse is baked fresh daily using quality ingredients and local produce where possible. From crusty sourdoughs and hot pies to pastries, sweet buns and old-school bakery favourites, the cabinet changes daily but always stays true to comforting food people genuinely look forward to eating.
Behind the scenes are dusty aprons, crazy socks, busy pie rushes, plenty of teamwork and a crew who genuinely care about the people around them. Over time, the bakery has become part of the Adelaide Hills community fabric, supporting local schools, sporting clubs, suppliers and community groups along the way.
While predominantly takeaway, we offer a small amount of seating for those wanting to slow down with a coffee and something fresh from the oven.

Our vision is to create more than just a bakery. We want to create a place people feel connected to. A wholesome, welcoming space where good food, good people and community come together through everyday moments that feel familiar, comforting and real.
We believe the best bakeries become part of people’s routines and traditions. The quick pie before work. The loaf of fresh bread for dinner. The after-school finger bun. The weekend coffee and pastry catch-up. The kind of small moments people genuinely look forward to.
Everything we do is grounded in quality craftsmanship, genuine hospitality and supporting the community around us. From award-winning breads and pastries to backing local schools, sporting clubs and community groups, we’re proud to be part of the Adelaide Hills community and passionate about continually improving what we do.
More than anything, we want people to walk through our doors and feel welcome, whether they’re locals, visitors, staff or suppliers. Because at its core, Crafers Bakehouse is about comfort, connection and flour-dusted moments worth coming back for.
